Green Chamber of Commerce: A great organization, a great group of people. I've been impressed with the quality of the membership and the leadership. In this new economy, we need more organizations like this to support green business big and small.

Dr. Nammy is such a sweet take on going to the dentist. She cares about the relationship she has with her patients. She has thoroughly thought out how to make her practice more sustainable and is continuously exploring ways to help promote green oral care. More than just a dentist, she brings together her network of green business and organization leaders to build a better planet.
Arm & Hammer Baking Soda

My dentist says baking soda is abrasive and to only use it once a week or so, but if I'd could buy 5-gallon buckets of it, I would. I use it sparingly to brush my teeth but it's great for so many things.
Rainbow Grocery Cooperative

Rainbow has the best bulk food section anywhere in San Francisco. From spices, dry goods to body care, it's the best place to buy bulk. The only issue I have is that some of their bulk bags don't seem to be recyclable or biodegradable. Seems like they could do something about that.
Farm Fresh to You

The produce these guys provide is AMAZING. Weekly service is reasonable at about $35 for a big box. The people who run it are very nice -- I met them a few times at farmers markets. The produce is seriously out of this world, I can't speak highly enough of the quality food Capay provides. They really should step up their website though. Some of the other CSAs allow you to log in, check out what you're gonna get that week, tell them about what you don't want, etc. If they improve the online service so I can manage my service more effectively, I'd definitely give them 5 stars! For now, it's 4.
Bay Area Green Business Program

I think this is a great concept, but it's really hard for small businesses to get certification. We have some office space in a big old SF building. We do all the right things: use recycled paper, CFLs, encourage employees to bike to work, etc. However, we're held accountable for our landlord's practices. There's no way I can convince the landlord to invest in energy efficient toilets, change lighting in the hallways, etc. I think this part of the certification program should be changed.
